Oklahoma’s Best Training to Help You Pass the CDL Test

Passing the CDL test in Oklahoma shouldn’t take you all year.

At CDL University, we’ve been helping Oklahomans earn their commercial driver’s license in a month or less for years.

Many say they couldn’t have done it without the top-notch trainers at our truck driving school.

What is the Commercial Driver’s License Test?

The CDL exam at your local DMV entails three separate sections, all of which require knowledge of a commercial vehicle.

The first section of the test is a Vehicle Inspection also known as a Pre-Trip Inspection.

Just as the name suggests, this section requires you to verbally and physically show you are knowledgeable in the vehicle’s mechanics.

You must be able to check and voice any problems before sitting behind the wheel.

The next test section is a Basic Control Skills also known as Backing.

Again, just as the name suggests, this section requires you to show, at random, three different backing maneuvers.

The backing maneuvers you may be asked to perform in your CDL test include:

  • Straight Line
  • Off Set
  • Alley Dock
  • Parallel Park

The final section of the CDL skills test is a road test also known as an On Road Test.

You guessed it, this test section requires you to safely and effectively drive the commercial motor vehicle on the road without having many points deducted.

Should I attend a Trucking School to Pass the CDL Test?

Even if you have an instructor with years of experience in the trucking industry, a semi-truck in your driveway and the safe space to practice, you still need to attend a trucking school.

Companies hiring CDL holders look at several things before having you sign that dotted line.

One of the most important things they look at is your experience behind the wheel.

During the month of training at our truck driving school, our students graduate with training that equates to 6-months experience.

This experience helps your future employer know you aren’t a liability on their insurance.

If you’re a liability due to a lack of experience, you will likely be looked over in their hiring process.

We’ve had several CDL holders enroll in our CDL training just to gain the experience they need to get hired.

In fact, 9 out of 10 people who work through CDL University’s streamlined curriculum earn their CDL and land great jobs.

Even better, CDL University Graduates find jobs they are qualified for within days of graduating.

Earning your CDL with help from CDL University shows employers you’ve had the proper training and experience.

We’ve had countless graduates report they were the only ones at their company’s orientations that actually knew what they were doing behind the wheel.

In turn, our graduates are paid more and have a much greater chance of getting the exact job they want.
